An Australian wine region located in the Barossa Zone of South Australia. It’s situated about 40 miles northeast of Adelaide around the towns of Angaston and Eden Valley. It shares much of its history with the Barossa Valley, which borders it on the west. Vines were first planted in 1847—the same year vines first arrived in the Barossa Valley. Eden Valley has not developed like the Barossa and today has only sixteen wineries. It’s cooler and windier so site selection is very important.

Egri Bikavér

The town of Eger is located northeast of Budapest in notably mountainous country. Egri Bikavér, which means “bull’s blood from Eger,” is Hungary’s best-known red wine.
