Clos des Lambrays AC [kloh day lahm-BRAY]
Elevated from premier cru status in 1981, this grand cru vineyard is located in the village of Morey-Saint-Denis in the Côte de Nuits district of France’s Burgundy region. Planted with Pinot Noir, this 21.8-acre vineyard is one of the few Burgundian grands crus almost totally owned by one set of owners, the Saier brothers. The vineyards have been extensively replanted over the last few years, and the younger vines are currently producing light red wines. Older wines from vintages prior to the replanting indicate that this vineyard can produce rich, full-bodied (see body) wines with good aging capabilities.
