Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet AC [kree-oh bah-TAHR mohn-rah-SHAY]

A 3.9-acre vineyard that is the smallest of the grands crus in the Côte de Beaune district of France’s Burgundy region. The vineyard is next to the grand cru Bâtard-Montrachet and is the only grand cru located entirely in the village of Chassagne-Montrachet. Considered among the world’s best, Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet AC wines are made from Chardonnay grapes. They’re similar to, although perhaps slightly lighter than, those from the neighboring Bâtard-Montrachet AC.
