Currency Creek

A newly recognized Australian wine region located in the Fleurieu Zone of South Australia. It’s situated about 45 miles southeast of Adelaide around the town of Currency Creek and adjacent to the better known Langhorne Creek region. Like Langhorne Creek, Currency Creek has a cool, even growing season influenced by Lake Alexandrina and the Southern Ocean. Cabernet Sauvignon, shiraz (Syrah), Merlot, and Chardonnay are the most widely planted varieties. At this writing, there are only two wineries in the region.
