Mittelmosel [MIHT-uhl-MOH-zuhl]
One of Germany’s best wine-producing areas. Its name, which means “middle Mosel,” refers to its location in the central portion of German’s Mosel-Saar-Ruwer region. Its boundaries closely approximate those of the Bereich Bernkastel and include villages such as Brauneberg, Bernkastel, Graach, Piesport, Wehlen, and Zeltingen. The rieslings of Mittelmosel are highly regarded.
