Ruwer [ROO-vayr]

Located in Germany’s Mosel-Saar-Ruwer region, Ruwer is a small tributary of the Mosel River and host to a number of fine vineyards in the surrounding valley. Although the wines from this area aren’t considered quite as superb as those from the Saar River area, they can rank as some of Germany’s best. The main wine-producing villages are Eitelsbach, Kasel, and Waldrach. The Grosslage Kaseler Römerlay covers this area.
