Shenandoah Valley AVA
Large AVA that starts in the north in West Virginia above Martinsburg in the far eastern corner of the state and runs southwest through Berkeley and Jefferson Counties, then into Virginia down through Frederick, Clarke, Warren, Shenandoah, Page, Rockingham, Augusta, Rockbridge, Botetourt, and Amherst counties. It was established in 1987 and encompasses approximately 2,400,000 acres in the Blue Ridge Mountains. See also California Shenandoah Valley AVA.
