Wehlen [VAY-luhn]
A small wine-producing town located between Bernkastel and Zeltingen in Germany’s Mosel-Saar-Ruwer region. It’s considered one of the region’s top producers, primarily because of the wines from the famous vineyard site (Einzellage) Sonnenuhr (which means “sundial,” after the massive sundial on the property). Wehlen owes much of its reputation to the high-quality wines from the Prüm family, who’ve Made Wine in Wehlen since the eighteenth century.
