Used for wines that have the characteristic flavor and smell of fresh fruit—a quality primarily displayed in young wines. But fruitiness doesn’t necessarily reflect grapes—it can be characteristic of apples, blackberries, cherries, raspberries, you name it. For example, the taste and aroma of Gewürztraminer is reminiscent of litchis. fruity wines typically have a fresh quality and distinctive character.
