Alpana Singh
Born in Monterey California, it's no wonder that Alpana Singh would be drawn to a lifestyle revolving around wine. Alpana discovered her love for wine while waiting tables during college and realized that it combined other interests of history, geography, and food. She made the decision then that set her on her way to becoming a Master Sommelier in 2003.
Since then Alpana has served as sommelier for Relais Gourmand and Traditions et Qualite Restaurant Everest, working with Chef J. Joho, which was credited as having "the country's best selection of Alsatian wine" by USA Today. Robert Parker has praised Alpana as being "one of the finest young sommeliers in America today" in the Wine Advocate. Wine and Spirits Magazine named Alpana as one of the best sommeliers in America as well. Alpana has received many more accolades and has been featured in many publications such as the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun Times, New York Times, USA Today and Newsweek.
Aplana Singh now works as the Director of Wine and Spirits for Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises Inc. and resides in Chicago with her husband Charles Blackstone. She also contributes to food and wine worthy causes such as the Wine Market Council's WineAnswers.com.
