When it comes to Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, there's a lot to live up to. Either the bar is set high, or people don't believe the hype. This Crane Family Vineyards 2005 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon does it all, it exceeds expectations and stands a head above the crowd. The nose is cola and licorice and blackberry notes kicking into gear as they hit the palette and meet up with some delicious vegetable components on the midpalette. The finish is balanced with lush tannins proving this wine has the legs to go the distance in your cellar. I absolutely love this wine. While $60 is a high price tag, this wine is well worth it and will continue to age gracefully for up to 10 years.
