Applesauce? Really?

This wine smelled exactly like mushy homemade applesauce thinned down with canned pear juice. Yikes! Not what I was expecting at all, but not unpleasant either. The taste and mouthfeel is light and disappointing, especially given the monster finish! Like an actor who makes zero impression onstage and then hams it up for the curtain call.

The smell on this is definitely jammy and full of strawberry fruitiness. The taste is a far cry from the smell, which diminishes the initial fruity aroma by adding some more vegetal and spice components (I think I detected a little mint/spearmint in the mid-palate).

Subtle yet refreshing

This Cab Franc comes in soft and light, not what I was expecting at all. Apple and Cranberry carries the mid-palate profile. The finish is sneaky, comes on full after a few seconds after swallowing. This wine would pair well with white meats and tomato based sauces or reductions.
