Fermentation Notes
Once harvested and after a 4-day cold soak of the whole berries, the juice went through fermentation naturally. Upon completion, the wine was then placed in 100% new French oak barrels for the secondary, malolactic fermentation to mellow the acidity.
Vintage Notes
The 2002 vintage on Spring Mountain high above Napa Valley was marked with warm days and cool nights through mid September. These ideal conditions led to more complexity and excellent balance and ripeness in the grapes.
