Fermentation Notes
Initial blending was done as the wines developed in 3-year air dried French oak barrels from small artisinal coopers. After two years in the caves, the best tasting 28 barrels (marked with an "X" by the winemakers during their frequent tasting) were selected for blending by taste. The blend was then barrel aged for a third year to sogten the tannins, and add complexity that only time brings. DRX was bottle aged for an additional three years.
Vintage Notes
Hand harvested and sorted grapes from our favorite vineyards contributed to DRX. initial blending was done.

Very nice wine with lots of character
Deerfield Ranch never seems to let me down, this wine carries the torch. Full bright and rich, fruit, acid, and tannins all perfectly balanced.
Perfection
We are a big fan of Deerfield wines, but with this one, they have really out done themselves! Low tannins, well balanced, complex flavors and smooth mouth feel. A beautiful wine.
