Syrah (Red)

$25.00/bottle

An unforgettable choice, our Estate Syrah originates in a magical place outside of Templeton, along the South El Pomar corridor. Years of living in the middle of this vineyard allowed us to personally tend to every aspect of its care. We have come to appreciate the perfect combination of winter frost, summer heat, cool nightly ocean breezes, pure water and unique blend of clay and limestone soils which define the fruit. This contributed to the 14.5% alcohol content that puts this wine in a unique class of its own. IIn November 2006 we will be releasing our 2004 Estate Private Reserve Syrah which will certainly have the wine community reeling. This time we aged our Syrah for 20 months in 100% French oak. You may place your order in advance to guarantee your delivery.

We be Jammin'

McClean Vineyards has done the right thing by specializing in Syrah. The nose is full of blackberries and though it probably smells more like a cafflouti it reminds me of really good smelling shampoo! There is also a hint of dried plums that comes through beautifully. On the palate I would… (view more)
